The following 23 candidates have declared their intention to stand as candidates in the 2019 European Elections, in the "Ireland South" consituency. Waterford is in the "Ireland South" consituency, where 5 seats will be contested. The 'Ireland South' constituency comprises the counties of Carlow, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Tipperary, Wexford and Wicklow; the cities and counties of Limerick and Waterford, and the city of Cork.

* Denotes candidate is a sitting MEP.

Note: Ireland had been allocated two extra seats in the European Parliament because of Brexit, with one each going to Dublin and Ireland South, which would increase to four and five seaters respectively. In the event of the UK not leaving the EU by the time of the elections, the fourth and fifth place finishers in Dublin and Ireland South will not take up their seats until Brexit happens and British MEPs leave the European Parliament.
