Micro enterprise loans of up to €50,000 from MicroFinance Ireland are available for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with less than 10 full-time employees and annual turnover of up to €2m. Applications can be made through the MFI website or through your Local Enterprise Office.

Longer term loans from €100,000 to €3,000,000 for SMEs under the Future Growth Loan Scheme also operated through the SBCI. The loans have a maximum interest rate of 4.5% and the first €500,000 borrowed can be unsecured.


Local Enterprise Office Supports

A new Trading Online Voucher Scheme, is available through Waterford Local Enterprise Offices to help small and microenterprises get online. The voucher is worth up to €2,500. A second voucher of up to €2,500 can be sought once the first has been successfully utilised. Voucher numbers are limited - contact your Local Enterprise Office for more information and application details.

Businesses that have already received a Trading Online Voucher can now apply for a second voucher, where upgrades are required.


Enterprise Support Grant for businesses impacted by COVID-19

The Enterprise Support Grant is available to assist eligible self-employed recipients who close their COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment on or after 18 May 2020. This will provide business owners with a once-off grant of up to €1,000 to restart their business which was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
