The Environmental and Outdoor staff of Waterford City & County Council play a crucial role in preserving the natural beauty,  biodiversity and convenience of the City and County’s parks, open spaces and playgrounds.

In implementing the Regulation & Control of Parks, Playgrounds and Open Spaces Bye-Laws 2019, we ensure these vital green areas are maintained to the highest standards, promoting sustainability and community well-being.

As well as everyday repair, maintenance, planting, pruning etc., works undertaken by our crews include conservation initiatives, facility upgrades, and the promotion of recreational activities that encourage public engagement with the natural environment.
