Renewable Energy Strategy - Waterford City & County Council

This Renewable Energy Strategy has been formulated for Waterford City and County to align with EU and national renewable energy targets, leveraging the diverse renewable energy resources in Waterford. It aims to substantiate the objectives outlined in the Waterford City & County, and Dungarvan Town Development Plans spanning 2011 to 2018. The strategy serves as a pivotal document to reinforce and inform future revisions of these plans, exploring the renewable energy prospects of the city and county and assessing the strategic planning factors essential for deploying such energy.

Renewable Energy Strategy 2016-2030

This strategy emphasises the crucial integration of renewable energy and land-use planning and seeks to fortify the correlation between them through various local plans and development zones. The strategy, enriched by Strategic Environmental and Habitats Directive Screening Assessments, is an integral component of Waterford’s Development Plans and will be assimilated into these plans through respective variations.
