These Local Area Plans 2014-2020 were made by the Elected Members of Waterford County Council on 10th February 2014. The plans were prepared in accordance with the requirements set out in the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and the DoECLG's Local Area Plan Guidelines. The 6 year plans replaces previous Local Area Plans for 2007-2013.
A Local Area Plan sets out the overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the area concerned, for the period 2014-2020. All planning applications received for the plan's area will be assessed under the new plan. The plans, which may be subject to interim variations, will remain in place until 2020.
