Online talks being organised by Daonscoil na Mumhan
The fourth in a series of online talks being organised by Daonscoil na Mumhan this winter will take place next Tuesday evening, 1st February from 7-8pm, with guest speaker Sorcha Ní Chéilleachair, Head of Tuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta, the advocacy and support group for parents raising their children through Irish in the Gaeltacht. Originally from An Rinn, Sorcha is the daughter of the famous singer, Anne Mulqueen and her husband Tomás Ó Céilleachair, both long-time friends and supporters of Daonscoil na Mumhan.
Having spent some time teaching as a qualified primary school teacher, Sorcha then worked for 15 years as a broadcaster with RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta. She was one of the founders of Tuismitheoirí na Gaeltachta, and was appointed head of the organisation in 2018. Sorcha lives in Conamara with her husband and three children.
