Proposed Construction of a Pedestrian Crossing at Cois Trá, Ardmore

CONSULTATION END DATE: 11th August, 2020

Waterford City & County Council proposed to undertake the construction of a macadam raised table in Ardmore from existing footpath outside the Tourist office towards the Playground. The proposal is a traffic calming measure including a raised pedestrian crossing as set out below. The proposal will provide a safe crossing point for all users.

Works Requirements:
Raised Pedestrian Crossing extending from playground to Pedestrian area (L-2107) i.e. 3m wide platform & 2 x 1m tapers either side

  • 50mm SMA (10mm macadam)
  • 75mm AC 20 Dense Bin 70/100 des binder course
  • AC14 regulating course – varied thickness
  • The drawings are available for inspection below but due to the Covid 19 restrictions were not on public display in our office buildings. However a copy of the drawings and details of the proposal are also available on request from Aideen Jacob, Administrative Offi cer, Roads Department at the email address below or by contacting 0761102020 from Wednesday 1st July to Tuesday 28th July, 2020.

    The Council considered any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions were to have been be lodged with Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford or by email to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie to be received before 4.00pm on Tuesday 11th August, 2020.
