Expired Public Consultations 2020

Development of new pedestrian facility along the L15011 Quarry Road, Waterford City

Waterford City and County Council proposed to undertake the construction of a new pedestrian facility along the L15011 Quarry Road, local tertiary road. The proposed works include modification of the existing traffic lanes, construction of new footway and new pedestrian crossing and installation of the new public lighting with associated sundry works. The proposed length of the scheme is approximately 90 meters.

Due to existing constraints a short section of the road will be narrowed to a single lane where northbound traffic must give way to oncoming southbound traffic. The implementation of the scheme and creation of a 30kph zone will create a safe environment for all road users with a strong emphasis on non-motorised road users.
The main goal is to reduce vehicular speed and improve the facilities for the vulnerable road users. This will be achieved by the alteration of the existing traffic lanes, introducing of 30kph speed limit and providing pedestrian facilities on the eastern side of the Quarry Road.

Drawings are available for inspection below.

The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should have been lodged with Ms. Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford or by email to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie to be received before 4.00pm on Tuesday 12th May, 2020.
