Traffic Calming Scheme - Aglish– Additional Road Improvement Works along L-2012/L-2014

CONSULTATION TYPE: SUBMISSIONS / OBSERVATIONS ACCEPTED
CONSULTATION END DATE: 6th June, 2022

Waterford City & County Council proposes to undertake additional road improvement works along the L-2012/L-2014 Aglish Village. Works will include the continuation of the concrete footpath constructed alongside the properties on the L-2021 Villierstown Road in 2021 and extending southwards as far as the end property at the junction of the L-2012. A 6.0m wide carriageway will be maintained as part of the development works.

Additional connecting widened footpaths will be constructed along the L-2014 Aglish Village with a narrowing of the carriageway to 6.0m wide. Dedicated 2.4m wide parking areas will be provided alongside ‘Bothar Na Grann’ housing development as set out on the attached drawing.

An uncontrolled pedestrian crossing will be installed adjacent to the existing parking area alongside the Shop/Petrol Station to provide safe movement and connection for pedestrians and cyclists. These traffic works along the previously constructed footpath and traffic calming works will provide a safe environment for all road users.

The drawing is also available for inspection below and in our Customer Services Departments in Davitts Quay, Dungarvan and Bailey’s New Street, Waterford from Tuesday 26th April to Monday 23rd May, 2022.

The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should be lodged with Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford or by email to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie to be received by Monday 6th June, 2022.
