Waterford City & County Council proposed to undertake road improvement works along the L-3011 /R-675, Ballinroad Cross to R-675 Ballinroad Roundabout. Works will include the construction of a 2.0m wide concrete footpath on both sides of the Public Road L-3011 extending from the existing footpath and pedestrian crossing facilities at Ballinroad Cross and linking to the existing footpath/cycleways at Ballinroad Roundabout. A 6.0m wide carriageway will be maintained along the L-3011 as part of the road development works as set out on the attached drawings.
A raised pedestrian crossing with Belisha Beacons and Lighting heads will be provided on the eastern approach to the R-675, Ballinroad Roundabout, to provide a safe connection from the L-3011 Ballinroad to the Waterford Greenway. The existing raised pedestrian crossing connecting the Greenway along the Clonea Strand Road will be retrofitted with Belisha Beacons with lighting heads for increased illumination.
These works together with the existing footpath, public lighting and surfacing works completed along the L-3012 alongside Ballinroad Church and adjacent to Knocknagranagh Housing development entrance, completed in 2021, will provide a direct and safe connection to the Waterford Greenway and a safer environment for all road users.
The drawings are also available for inspection below and in our Customer Services Departments in Davitt’s Quay, Dungarvan and Bailey’s New Street, Waterford between normal office hours during the period 10th August to 6th September, 2022.
The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should be lodged with Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford or by email to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie to be received by 20th September, 2022.
