Waterford City & County Council proposes to undertake additional Road improvement works along the R-666 Ballyduff Village. Works will include the construction of a 1.5m to 1.8m wide footpath along the R-666 extending from the existing footpath at ‘ Cois Abhann’ housing development entrance on the western approach linking to the existing footpaths in the village. Dedicated parking areas will be provided for the existing dwelling houses along the extent of the works, as set out on the attached drawing.
A belisha beacon controlled pedestrian crossing will be installed within the existing centre Island on the western approach to provide safe movement and connection for pedestrians and cyclists.
Additional traffic calming measures will be implemented along the extent of the works, with the inclusion of ‘ SLOW’ markings along with additional road edge markings through the village. A yield sign and Island will be constructed on the western approach to Ballyduff to encourage speed reduction on entry to the Village. These traffic works along the previously constructed traffic calming works will provide a safe environment for all road users.
The drawings are available for inspection below and will also be on display in our Customer Services Departments in Bailey’s New Street, Waterford and Davitts Quay, Dungarvan from Wednesday 6th April to Tuesday 3rd May, 2022.
The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal.
