Dungarvan to Mallow Greenway Feasibility Study

CONSULTATION TYPE: REQUEST FOR FEEDBACK
CONSULTATION END DATE: 29th April, 2022

The Dungarvan to Mallow Greenway is a proposed approximately 74-kilometre long walking and cycling path that would connect Dungarvan in County Waterford to Mallow in County Cork. It is anticipated that the greenway will generally follow the route of the abandoned rail line between Dungarvan and Mallow. This path would also pass through or link to the towns and villages of Cappoquin, Lismore, Ballyduff, Clondulane, Fermoy, Ballyhooly, and Killavullen.

The vision for the Dungarvan to Mallow Greenway is to create a walking and cycling path between Dungarvan and Mallow that provides for a world class tourism and recreational experience for people of all ages and abilities. Following the path of the now abandoned Dungarvan to Mallow railway, the greenway will integrate with and enhance the existing natural and built features of the region to support the economic development of communities and health of citizens in County Waterford and County Cork.

The project is currently at the initial study area/constraints and route corridor options assessment stage and public feedback will help guide the development of the greenway and the decision-making process.
