In 2012, the policy document ‘Putting People First’ was published and this sets out reforms to improve the delivery of services for the citizen, deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness and give local government a more central role in local and community development.
The Local Government Reform Act 2014 gives legislative effect to the commitments in ‘Putting People First’ including:
Waterford Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) was established in 2014 under the provisions of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 and are required under Part 6 of the Local Government Act 2014 (S 128 B of the Local Government Act, 2001) to prepare, adopt, and submit an annual report to the Local Authority in respect of the performance of its functions in the previous year.
