The Waterford Gaeltacht
Six miles west of Dungarvan and overlooking Dungarvan Harbour and Muggort’s Bay lies the small coastal Gaeltacht of County Waterford, consisting of the parishes of An Rinn and An Sean Phobal.

An Rinn (Ring)

An Sean Phobal (Old Parish)
This is a rural parish with an ancient history – it is said that St Colman brought Christianity here even before St Declan of Ardmore. With a wild, dramatic coastline, there are also some lovely quiet coves and beaches here as well. A megalithic tomb, An Chailleach Bhéara is of interest, as well as Mine Head Lighthouse and it is also an area renowned for birdwatching.
Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise
Comhlucht Forbartha na nDéise is a community-led limited development company, which was established in 2005 for the purpose of perpetuating and strengthening the Irish language in the Waterford Gaeltacht, through the promotion of community and cultural development.
