Temporary Development Contributions Waiver


Those seeking to avail of the Government’s Temporary Development Contribution Waiver need to submit the relevant Commencement Notice or 7 Day Notice to the Building Control Management System (BCMS) on or before 17th December 2024 to ensure they meet the scheme deadline. No submissions after the deadline can be accepted.

Section 48 of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) enables the Planning Authority when granting planning permission under Section 34 of the Act, to include conditions requiring the payment of a financial contribution in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting development in the area of the Planning Authority, and that is provided, or that is intended to be provided, by or on behalf of the Local Authority, regardless of other sources of funding for the infrastructure and facilities.

The Waterford City and County Council Development Contribution Scheme 2023-2029 was formally adopted by the Elected Members of Waterford City and County Council at its Plenary Meeting on the 9th of February 2023.
