Waterford Walls Festival 2021
Waterford Walls, Ireland’s largest street art festival and open air gallery, will take place in Waterford city, Tramore, An Rinn, Ballyduff Upper and Tallow from Friday 13th to Sunday 22nd August 2021.
This year, 20 mural artists, both Irish and international, will paint 24 walls altogether, including Madc (Germany), Vinie Graffiti (France), David de la Mano (Spain), Curtis Hylton (UK) or Deidre Breen (Ireland).
New to this edition, emerging local artists Lucas Dwan, Juliette Viode, Karol, Claudia Jackes and Anna Love will have the opportunity to work along experienced mural artists in the 2021 Mentorship Programme.
Also new this year, “The Walls Project” in conjunction with Italian non-profit Bepart, the Brightening Air/Coiscéim Coiligh and the Irish Arts Council and Waterford Walls Festival, have created a new project: #MovingMurals a free-to- download app that transforms public street art works into augmented realities.
Multiple communities, national and international artists and young people have worked together in the development of the #MovingMurals project. The app is available to download via the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
