Different projects and plans may have periods of public consultation, during which members of the public can make observations on proposed developments or can contribute ideas to proposed projects.

1. Section 38 - Traffic Calming Scheme, Western Terrace, Dungarvan.

Notice is hereby given that Waterford City and County Council propose to develop Water Activity Centre facilities at the Promenade Public Toilets, Tramore.

In accordance with Part 8, Article 81 of the above Regulations, Waterford City & County Council hereby gives notice of proposals to carry out development works at the site of the Public Toilets, Lower Promenade, Tramore, Co. Waterford to provide Water Activity Centre facilities.

The development will consist of:

  • Extension and alteration to the existing Public Toilet facilities at Lower Promenade, Tramore, Co. Waterford to accommodate a Water Activity Centre providing changing facilities, showers and beach wheelchair storage.
  • Ancillary works will include the provision of a plant room utilising sustainable technologies and adjustment of public footpath to incorporate proposals.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase, at a reasonable fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy, at Waterford City & County Council, Customer Care Desk, Baileys New Street, Waterford between the hours of 9:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday for the period 18th June – 17th July inclusive (excluding Bank and Public Holidays).

The proposed development has undergone Appropriate Assessment Screening under the Habitats Directive (92/43/EEC) and the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended, and the Planning Authority has determined that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessment is not required in this instance. In addition, the proposal has also undergone screening for Environmental Impact Assessment under the EIA Directive 2014/52/EU (and the relevant provisions of the Planning and Development Act, as amended), and the Planning Authority has determined that there will be no likelihood of signif icant effects on the environment arising f rom the proposed development and, therefore, an Environmental Impact Assessment is not required. In accordance with Article 120 (3) of the Planning & Development Regulations (as amended), any person may, within 4 weeks f rom the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have signif icant ef fects on the environment.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area shall be made here online, or in writing to the Director of Economic Development, Waterford City & County Council, No. 35 The Mall, Waterford to be received on or before 4pm on 31st July 2024 and should be clearly marked Tramore Water Activity Centre or by email to projectsteam@waterfordcouncil.ie

All comments, including names of those making comments, submitted to the Council in regard of this scheme will form part of the statutorily required report to be presented at a meeting of the elected members. Accordingly, they will also be included in the minutes of that meeting and may appear in the public domain.

Proposed Scheme

Waterford City & County Council proposes to undertake footpath construction works along a section of Western Terrace, Dungarvan (L-3120) detailed in attached drawing. A 1.2m wide minimum width concrete footpath will provide complete connection to the existing footpaths at the top and bottom of Western Terrace.  These works are necessary and will provide a safe Pedestrian access for all properties along Western Terrace, Dungarvan.

The drawing is available for inspection on the Council’s website www.waterfordcouncil.ie and in our Customer Services Departments in Davitt’s Quay, Dungarvan and Bailey’s New Street, Waterford between normal office hours during the period 5th to 18th June, 2024.

The Council will consider any submissions or observations made in writing regarding the proposal. Submissions should be made on the Council’s consultation portal https://consult.waterfordcouncil.ie or sent to ajacob@waterfordcouncil.ie or by post to Aideen Jacob, Administrative Officer, Roads Department, Waterford City & County Council, Menapia Building, The Mall, Waterford, to be received by 18th June, 2024.

3. Proposed development of a new Kilmacthomas Fire Station

CONSULTATION TYPE: SUBMISSIONS / OBSERVATIONS ACCEPTED
CONSULTATION END DATE: 5th July 2024

Notice is hereby given to Waterford City and County Council of the proposed development of  a new Kilmacthomas Fire Station.

In accordance with Part 8, Article 81 of the above Regulations, Waterford City & County Council hereby gives notice of proposals to carry out development works for a new fire station located in the townland of Graigueshoneen, Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford.

The development will consist of:

The construction of a single storey fire station to contain two appliance bays and all supporting fire station welfare facilities.

Site works to include: construction of carpark (inclusive of electrical vehicle charging points), service yard, training tower, fire tender set down areas, water supply borehole, packaged sewage treatment plant and percolation area. Also the construction of 2m high paladin fencing to all boundaries with the exception of the boundary to Local Primary Road L3042, also the construction of two vehicular entrance/ access points unto the Local Primary Road L3042 inclusive of all ancillary accommodation and associated siteworks at Graigueshoneen, Kilmacthomas, Waterford.

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection or purchase for a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during office hours at Customer Care Offices, Civic Offices, Davitt’s Quay, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford and Customer Care Desk, Baileys New Street, Waterford between the hours of 9:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday for the period 22 May to 21st June 2024 inclusive( excluding Bank and Public Holidays).

4. Development of Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at Ringnasilloge, Dungarvan

Development under section 179 of the Planning and Development Act, 2000, as amended, and Notice pursuant to the requirements of Part 8, Article 81 and Article 120(3) of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001, as amended

Proposed Development of a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) and associated site works and services at Ringnasilloge, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford

In accordance with Part 8, Article 81, of the above Regulations, notice is hereby given that Waterford City and County Council proposes to carry out a development at Ringnasilloge, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.

The development will consist of:

The construction of a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) to include associated drainage, lighting, fencing  and civil works. The proposal includes preparation and provision of pitch area, boundary treatments and all other associated site development works and services at Ringnasilloge, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford

Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at Waterford City & County Council, Customer Care Desk, Civic Offices, Dungarvan, County Waterford between the hours of 9:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday for the period 17th May – 20th of June 2024 inclusive (excluding Bank and Public Holidays).
