Reminder – Road Closures/Diversions, N72 (Dungarvan)

Road closure N72, traffic diversion No 1.  Monday 9th – Wednesday 11th September
From Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th the road will be closed on the Dungarvan side of the Rockfield junction to a few hundred meters beyond Finisk bridge.


Traffic travelling from Dungarvan

  • Trucks and large vehicles
    Trucks and large vehicles travelling towards Cappoquin will be diverted at Master McGrath junction right onto the R672 until the junction with the R671 where it will be diverted to the left onto the R671.  Traffic will rejoin the N72 at the Rockfield  junction.
  • Cars and light vehicles
    Cars and light vehicles will be diverted to the left at the junction at Cappagh onto the L 2019 through Ballinmeela where they will be diverted right onto the R671 and rejoin the N72 at Rockfield junction.
  • Local access, including the school bus,  including for Modeligo school will be allowed at Kilcannon junction.

Traffic travelling from Cappoquin
All traffic travelling from Cappoquin will be diverted to the left at the Rockfield junction onto the R671 to its junction with the R672 where it will be diverted right and will rejoin the N72 at Master McGrath junction.


Road closure N72, traffic diversion No 2.  Thursday 12th – Friday 13th September

The N72 will be closed from Coolanheen Cross to Rockfield junction on Thursday 12th to Friday 13th.

Traffic travelling from Dungarvan
All traffic travelling from Dungarvan will be diverted left at the Rockfield junction along the R671 to its junction with the L1027 at Knocknaskagh (Dungarvan aluminium) where is will rejoin the N72 at the Lefanta junction at Cappoquin.

Traffic travelling from Cappoquin
All traffic travelling from Cappoquin will be directed left at the Coolanheen Cross roads on to the L 5053 and then right onto the L1028 Kilcloher . At the junction with R671 traffic will be directed right and will rejoin the N 72 at Rockfield junction.
