NTA Active Travel Funding 2026
Waterford City and County Council has received a €9,010,000 Capital Grant Allocation from the National Transport Authority.
The funding includes €8.5 million for Active Travel in 2026, plus €500,000 for the Bus Stop Enhancement Programme and €10,000 for Local Transport Plans for Dungarvan/Ballinroad and Tramore.
🚶♀️🚴 Active Travel proposed schemes to receive funding for 2026 include:
- Tramore Ring Road – €4,060,000
- Active Travel Pathfinder Project Lismore Park – €460,000
- Williamstown Road – €385,543
- Safe Routes to School schemes at St John of God National Passage Road (€300,000) and Scoil an Bhaile Nua, Newtown (€180,000)
- TFI bikes infrastructure replacement (€500,000)
Each of these proposed schemes are at different phases of development.
