Climate Action Week

Climate Action Week 2025

WHAT IS IT?

Climate Action Week 2025 takes place across the county from 13th to 19th October, with support from An Taisce. This will be a celebration of the action been taking already in Waterford, and sharing the stories to get more people involved. Climate change is already affecting all of us in our daily lives, and each of us can play our part in addressing it.

Events and activities across the week will be organised by individuals, communities, organisations and businesses with the support of the Climate Action Team in Waterford City and County Council.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

If you would like to organise an event yourself, check out our “How To…” resources below for some ideas. Contact us at climateaction@waterfordcouncil.ie to log your event or just talk through ideas.

DRAFT LIST OF EVENTS*

*Please note the list is provisional as more events and information come together.

To see the latest information on all events and for booking, see the An Taisce website for the full list of events here.

South East Technological University have also put together an impressive suite of events below which are taking place on campus and across the region. We invite you to please take a look at the schedule and to take part. See their lineup here.

Run Your Own Community Event

Climate change effects ALL of us, just as the potential to take action and make a difference rests with ALL of us as well. At a local level, your voice carries more weight than any number of politicians, scientists, or campaigners, so anything you organise for climate week carries real weight.

We hope that you will join us by running a small event in your community to build on the work that you have done and to encourage more people to play their part.
